A balanced diet….
It’s not always just about what you eat, but the quantity you are eating. In order to lose weight, you must be in a calorie deficit.
It’s not healthy or necessary to eliminate certain macronutrients or whole food groups in order to lose weight or build the physique that you are looking for. In fact just the opposite.
We need Carbohydrates. Carbs are our energy provider. Our body breaks them down to glucose which is the body’s primary source of fuel.
We need Protein. Protein is our builder and repairer. Our body breaks it down into amino acids which are the building blocks of protein and muscle growth, and help recover and repair after a workout.
We need Fat. Fat is essential in the absorption of vitamins, and helps regulate hormones. Healthy fats in our diet can also keep us feeling fuller longer which has an impact on food intake and weight.
No one macronutrient or food group is responsible for creating a healthy nourished body or achieving weight loss. Adequate amounts of all macronutrients and a balanced diet are the healthiest and most sustainable way to achieve goals.
