The many benefits of exercising outdoors
Exercising outdoors offers such a refreshing alternative to indoor workouts. There’s great benefit in the fresh air, sunshine, and varied terrain both physically as well as for your mental health. There’s plenty of outdoor activities to choose from, but I’m definitely in my hiking era. I find being in the mountains and surrounded by nature boosts my mood and reduces my stress levels. Its challenging and also offers a great feeling of accomplishment at the end….or at the peak!
Any exercise outside has the added benefit of improved cardiovascular health, increased vitamin D absorption, and enhanced mental clarity. The variety of surroundings also keeps routines interesting, making it easier to stay motivated.
I’m pretty sure there will never be a picture of me hiking where I’m not smiling, and its the first activity that I try to squeeze in when I have a free day.
Incorporating outdoor exercise into your routine not only contributes to physical well-being but can also foster a greater appreciation for nature and the outdoors. As with anything its important to go out prepared and stay hydrated.
